Launched at the 2024 Association for Preservation Technology (APT) Annual Conference in Montreal, Patti the Preservationist is a fundraising initiative inspired by Rosie the Riveter that supports the APT Equity Scholarship. The APT Equity Scholars Program provides funding for students and emerging professionals to attend APT’s annual conference, prioritizing backgrounds and perspectives historically underrepresented in the preservation field.
In coordination with APT directors and committees, I designed the Patti the Preservationist graphic and assisted with merchandise production and sales for the APT Annual Conferences in November 2024 and 2025. During these conferences, the initiative raised over $5,000 in direct support of the Equity Scholarship, with ongoing online sales continuing to generate funding through pattithepreservationist.com

installation

For my final capstone project in the BFA Emerging Media Arts program, I created a multimedia art installation, Roots, that combined film photography and biomaterial sculpture to explore parallels between Earthly systems. My installation was on display for a week in the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts in April of 2025. Throughout the academic year, I delivered 3 presentations on the project to my BFA cohort, where I gave advice on grant funding, project refinement, and the installation process.
